- Accumulator
- A bet that combines multiple selections into one wager, with winnings rolled over from each winning selection for a larger payout.
- Arbitrage
- Placing bets on all possible outcomes of an event across different sportsbooks to guarantee a profit regardless of the result.
- Bankroll
- The total amount of money you have set aside for betting.
- Bet Builder
- An online tool that lets you combine different markets from the same match into a single custom bet.
- Bet Slip
- The digital record that lists the selections, odds, and stake for a wager you intend to place.
- Cash Out
- A feature that lets you settle a bet before the event ends, locking in a profit or minimizing a loss based on the current odds.
- Dutching
- Dividing your total stake among multiple selections in the same event to ensure an equal profit if any of them win.
- Futures
- A bet placed on the outcome of a tournament or season, such as who will win the World Cup, often with odds that change over time.
- Handicap
- A numerical adjustment applied to a team’s score to create balanced odds, giving one side an advantage or disadvantage.
- In-Play Betting
- Placing a bet while a match is already in progress, with odds that update based on the current score and game flow.
- Juice
- The built-in commission the sportsbook charges on a bet, usually reflected in the odds.
- Kelly Criterion
- A formula that calculates the optimal percentage of your bankroll to wager based on the perceived edge of a bet.
- Moneyline
- A bet that picks the winner of a match without any point spread, with odds that show how much you win per unit wagered.
- Odds
- The numerical representation of the likelihood of an outcome, indicating how much you can win relative to your stake.
- Over/Under
- A bet on whether the total combined score of a match will be higher or lower than a line set by the sportsbook.
- Parlay
- A single wager that links two or more individual bets together; all selections must win for the parlay to pay out.
- Point Spread
- A handicap given to the underdog to level the playing field, expressed as a number of points added or subtracted from a team’s final score.
- Prop Bet
- A side bet on a specific event within a match, such as which player scores first or how many yellow cards are shown.
- Public Money
- The amount of bets placed by recreational bettors, often used to gauge which side the majority of casual players are backing.
- Stake
- The amount of money you risk on a bet.
- Steam
- A rapid shift in odds across multiple sportsbooks caused by heavy betting action from respected bettors.
- Value Bet
- A bet where the odds offered by the sportsbook are higher than the true probability of the outcome, giving you a long-term edge.
- Wagering Requirement
- A condition that states how many times you must bet a bonus amount before you can withdraw any winnings derived from it.
